The hydrogen free, catalyst free process converts fat feedstocks such as animal fat, beef tallow, crop seed oil or even restaurant grease into pure hydrocarbon gasoline and diesel fuel. Most biofuels lacks the energy density of crude oil based products – Not so in this case: the same energy as fossil fuel based products with no impurities including metals, sulphur or nitrogen. Forge has a pre-production facility operating at 200,000 litres of high octane fuel per year at the city of Edmonton Advanced Energy Research Facility, and with the support of SDTC ($4.2M), will be building a commercial facility in Canada in 2017.
